Thanks to the popularity of the show, Aniston, together with her female costars, managed to secure a contract for a whopping one million dollars per episode for the final season of Friends, thus going down in history as one of the highest-paid TV actresses of all time.

Shortly before the series ended, Aniston started receiving film proposals, all of them romantic comedies which were not hugely successful at the box office. However, in 2002, her role in the independent film, The Good Girl earned her some rave reviews, as well as some well-deserved recognition with the Independent Spirit Award and Satellite Award.
